1. Purpose

These Terms govern the use of EmoFEAT (the "Service"), a text and emotion analysis tool for academic research, and set out the rights and obligations of users and the operator.

2. Nature of the Service — No Guarantee of Outcomes

The Service is a research-assistance tool. Analysis results are statistical estimates. The Service does not warrant: (a) the accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose of any result; (b) the acceptance or successful peer review of any manuscript that uses the results; (c) the validity of research conclusions. Interpreting, validating and using the results is the user's responsibility; the Service merely provides validation aids (κ/α, reproducibility manifests, etc.).

3. Accounts and Eligibility

Sign-up requires a valid e-mail address and verification. Persons under 14 years of age may not register for the Service. Users are responsible for safeguarding their credentials and may not share accounts. Accounts may be restricted for false registration details, abuse (e.g., repeated attempts to farm the welcome quota), or conduct that disrupts normal operation.

4. User Content and Responsibility

Users retain all rights to, and responsibility for, the data they upload (files, collected comments, etc.). Users represent that:

The Service processes uploaded data only for analysis and does not transmit it to external AI APIs. Temporary uploads may be deleted by the user or periodically purged for operations.

5. Quota and Payment

6. Withdrawal and Refunds

7. Changes and Suspension

The operator may change or improve Service features. The Service may be temporarily suspended for maintenance, failures or force majeure. Upon termination of the Service, 30 days' notice will be given and unused paid quota refunded pro rata.

8. Intellectual Property

Rights in the Service's software, design and documentation belong to the operator. Outputs users generate with the Service (charts, reports, Methods drafts, etc.) may be freely used by the user for research and publication. Citing the tool in academic publications is encouraged but not required.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, special or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, and the operator's aggregate liability is capped at the amount the user actually paid to the Service in the preceding 12 months. This does not apply to damages caused by the operator's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea; disputes are subject to the courts with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
